Head Grower
The Head Grower is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day growing operation, with a primary focus on annuals. This person will play a key role in determining crop timing, maintaining plant quality, managing greenhouse conditions, and ensuring that our plants are healthy, full, and ready for customers when they need them.

This is a hands-on position for someone who knows plants, understands the demands of a retail greenhouse, and can confidently take ownership of the growing operation.

Expected Schedule
Must be flexible depending on seasonal changes. During our peak season, April-June, you are expected to work up to 6 days a week.
​Weekends are required during certain peak times as well.
​Besides busy periods, we are very flexible!

Oversee the production and care of annuals (and some perennials) from planting through retail readiness

Develop and maintain crop schedules to ensure plants are ready for key selling periods

Monitor and manage watering, fertilizing, temperature, humidity, ventilation, lighting, and overall greenhouse conditions

Scout crops regularly for insects, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and other growing issues

Implement appropriate pest and disease management practices

Coordinate planting, transplanting, spacing, pruning, pinching, and other crop maintenance

Maintain consistent plant quality, appearance, and timing across the greenhouse

Work closely with management and greenhouse staff to plan production needs and inventory

Train, direct, and support greenhouse employees in proper plant-care practices

Help manage ordering and inventory of plugs, liners, chemicals, soil, fertilizer, and other growing supplies

Maintain accurate growing records and schedules

Troubleshoot problems quickly and make informed decisions when conditions change

Keep greenhouse areas organized, clean, safe, and efficient

Assist with other garden center and seasonal responsibilities as needed

Lead by example and contribute to a positive, hardworking, and fun team environment
